Why can’t you hold both races?

We’ve entertained that idea and this is a tough decision, as we’re enthusiastic about both races.

We have a small team for both BOLDERBoulder and FORTitude, each person overseeing a specific aspect of the event. The logistics are difficult to be able to host two races simultaneously. Combining both events with expectations of 40-50,000 people and 100,000 spectators also limits our options.

Why can’t you run the race in Fort Collins?

Good question. The BOLDERBoulder has finished at the University of Colorado since 1981. During that time the race has grown and has hosted as many as 50,000 finishers. This year we anticipate at least 40,000, or more finishers along with another 40,000 friends and family joining as spectators. Given the infrastructure to support the event and the capacity and the resources requiredwe have the most experience managing a larger race on the streets of Boulder and inside the stadium at CU.  For 2020 this is the right choice.

What’s going to happen to FORTitude?

We will be back and running on the streets of Fort Collins on Labor Day 2021, and as stronger than ever!

What about the BFC Club?

Thanks so much for being such a fan. We are working on a few fun ideas for those dedicated runners.

FORT’s Finest – What about my running streak?

Your streak will remain intact!

How are you handling Age Awards?

Like last year, 1st – 10th place medals will be awarded for each age by gender.

You will receive a specific FORTitude 10k Finisher’s Certificate with your time, place results, and overall results.
