Everyone will receive a race shirt, bib with an official timing chip, specific FORTitude finisher’s certificate, snack bag, a drink, all backed by your FORTitude GuaRUNtee.

What, when and where is the FORTitude 10K in 2020?

What: The FORTitude 10K will join the BOLDERBoulder in Boulder, Colorado to take place through the streets and neighborhoods of Downtown Boulder on a high energy yet challenging course that tops out at 5491 feet at its highest point before descending into its fastest mile. This year the course will feature the FORTitude mile from mile 5 through 6, before rising up into Folsom Field for the biggest finish of any 10k in the world.

When: Labor Day – September 7, 2020

Where: The 2020 race will be combined with the BOLDERBoulder and begins on 30th Street adjacent to the 29th Street Mall in Boulder, CO, and ends at the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field.

When does registration open?
Registration will be open in May.
Is there a cap?
Space is limited to the first 8,500 runners for FORTitude 10K and we do expect it to sell out. Make sure you register early to reserve your space!
How do the waves work?
We want you to run, jog, or walk at your speed.

Waves will align with the BOLDERBoulder qualifying standards and the first 20 waves are designed and reserved for runners who finish faster than 62 minutes. Use your FORTitude, BOLDERBoulder, or ColderBOLDER time from the past 12 months, or provide any other race results from a race two miles or longer within 12 months of the FORTitude 10K, and we’ll place you in the fastest wave possible. It’s important to register according to your anticipated pace. All other waves are open to everyone on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can I change waves once I register?
If you want to change waves or run in a qualified wave, we can make that happen, assuming there are still bibs available in the wave you want. For $10, bib changes can be done at the solutions tent on race day or through our race office. To request a bib change, please email us. Keep in mind that you won’t be allowed to move up to a faster wave on race day.
Will there be prizes?
Awards will be given to the top 10 men and women in their respective age groups. Age group champions begin at six years old and go up to the oldest registered participant that completes the race.
How about parking and transportation?
We encourage everyone to car pool, use public transportation, or take advantage of the Bike Check. Information about all transportation including parking can be found here.
Is there anything I can’t do?
In order to keep everyone on their feet, we don’t allow pets, inline skates, strollers, or costumes that extend beyond the body. There are no refunds, exchanges or transfers on registration fees, but if you sign up and don’t run, you can take advantage of our FORTitude GuaRUNtee.
Are there hidden 'extras and fees'?
Nope. Unlike other sports, running is pure. It’s just you, a pair of shoes, and a route. We don’t think any pure sport should include a bunch of hidden fees. That’s why, unlike other races, we don’t have added online fees or handling charges. The only add-on’s are for shipping (if you choose) and/or extra gear or food if you want them.
What do I get in my race package?
Other races are giving less and less, but we work hard to give you more. Beyond the beautiful setting and amazing finish, you’ll experience the city of Fort Collins and on course bands. Everyone will receive a Race Shirt, bib with an Official Timing Chip, finisher’s certificate, snacks, drink, and of course your FORTitude GuaRUNtee. Plus, our race sponsors and partners offer more samples and discounts then you could shake a race bib at.
What if I lose my bib?
No problem. For $10 we can issue you a new bib at the solutions tent on race day or through our race office. To request a new bib, please email us.
Is the event timed?
Yes. BOLDERBoulder was the first mass-participation race to offer high-tech tag timing to every entrant. When you get your race packet, you’ll receive a tag that’s already attached to your bib. You will leave it on your bib, and this is how we track your time. It not only gives you a total time, the tag will track your running splits every mile.

Where can I get my results?
We know that most times, it’s all about your time. That’s why FORTitude has got the most seamless, advanced results of any 10K in the world. You can view your results online for those six-years-old and over here. Later in October you will get an official finisher certificate with full readout about your race in the mail.

You can also get your results through our Runner Tracker App! The app will provide real-time runner tracking, results, offers from our sponsors and everything else you need for race day.

Where will the course go?
The FORTitude 10K takes runners on a scenic yet altitude challenging course through Fort Collins, passing landmarks like City Park and CSU campus, as well as weaving through picturesque Avery and Mountain Ave. neighborhoods. The race finishes at the Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium where students, faculty, and the Fort Collins community will get to experience the grand finale. Everyone’s invited!
Will there be aid offered for the runners along the course?
There will be aid stations at the start, the finish and mile 2, 3, 4, and 5. We will also place portable toilets at the start and along the course. There will also be emergency response available.
Will there be an Expo?
Yes, runners can expect a post-race expo including exhibitions, demos, samples, and more.

When and where do I pick up my packet?
 

Packet pick-up locations are listed as you register online and you can pick the location that is the most convenient for you.

Can I bike to the start line?
Yes! The Bike Check is located at the start area and you can check your bike for FREE starting at 7:00am.
How can I become a sponsor/expo vendor?

What if I'm not running but want to join in on the fun?
Not running? Come early to watch the start of the race, then walk a short distance to the stadium to see your friends, family, and your neighbors finish. Then watch the USA Pro Chase Race starting at 10:30 am, with the winner finishing around 11:02 am. Be at the Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium to cheer these athletes on for the final sprint!
Where can I store my stuff?
If you need to store something on race day, leave it with us at the start line and then pick it up near the finish! Our Gear Check will be available near the start line starting at 7:00am. The Gear Check will move to the Finish at the corner of Lake and Meridian (south side of stadium) at 8:35am and will close at 12:00pm. Gear Check tickets are available as an add-on during registration and are available on race day. We ask that you don’t store valuables at Gear Check.
Where should I park?
We encourage everyone to take advantage of the FREE Bike Check, runner drop off zone, and shuttle services offered on race day. If you are driving to the event, check out our parking map and all other transportation information here.
